NCAA: Where Minor League Basketball Happens

Some of us like college basketball. Some of us are only watching the game so that we can watch the draft candidates. For them we have this post.

12:15 PM     (10) Stanford vs (2) Kansas CBS

Likely NBA prospects:  Andrew Wiggins, the presumptive number one pick will be here. Joel Embiid is still injured. Dwight Powell of Stanford is a possible second rounder.

2:45 PM       (8) Kentucky vs (1) Wichita State CBS

Wichita state has fringe candidate Cleanthony Early. Kentucky has Randle and Cauley-Stein, both lottery prospects. Kentucky has James Young, Alex Poythress and the Harrison twins, Aaron and Andrew.

5:15 PM       (6) North Carolina vs (3) Iowa State CBS

This game likely has no one who will be in the NBA next year. Brice Johnson, James McAdoo and Marcus Paige have gotten some fringe draft conversation, but outside of a strong tournament, it will be hard for a GM to justify picking any of them. Melvin Ejim from Iowa State is in the same conversation.

6:10 PM       (14) Mercer vs (11) Tennessee Turner Network Television

Do you know what I wasn't excited about? Mercer knocking out Duke. Now instead of evaluating Jabari Parker who could go somewhere between 1 and 4, it's a game featuring Jarnell Stokes and Jordan McRae who may be second round picks and Mercer who doesn't even have anyone that DraftExpress mentions as a possible NBA Draft candidate.

7:10 PM       (12) Stephen F. Austin vs (4) UCLA TBS

Kyle Anderson will likely be a first rounder and with a strong tournament the UCLA sophomore could end up in the tournament. As a surprise to no one, SFA has nothing worth paying attention to at this point.

7:40 PM       (6) Baylor vs (3) Creighton truTV

Doug McDermott, Creighton's scorer extraordinaire, will be in this game. Isaiah Austin and Cory Jefferson from Baylor are both possible draft candidates.

8:40 PM       (8) Memphis vs (1) Virginia Turner Network Television

Shaq Goodwin (Memphis) and Joe Harris (Virginia) are fringe draft candidates. But generally nothing to see.

9:40 PM       (8) Gonzaga vs (1) Arizona TBS

Aaron Gordon, the most exciting prospect in the Pac-12 will be in this game. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Nick Johnson and Kaleb Tarczewski will also round up the draft prospects in Arizona. Przemek Karnowski is the lone fringe possibility in Gonzaga.
